Canon MAXIFY GX7020 Driver Download- The Canon MAXIFY GX7020 (known in the UK as GX7050 and in Australia as GX7060) is a feature-packed four-in-one printer aimed at the home worker and small business printer(opens in a new tab) market.
Sitting at the top of Canon’s line of refillable MegaTank models, this is an inkjet ready-to-fill roll that laser printers usually pick up (opens in a new tab). With a large ink tank and room for more than one ream of paper, it can handle a high monthly duty cycle (up to 45,000 pages, while Canon bottle ink beats even the most economical laser printers in terms of cost per page.
It seems expensive for an inkjet at around $900 (about £600, AU$1,218) until you factor in the six ink bottles included. That’s enough for 18,000 mono, 14,000 color pages, and bottle replacements are inexpensive.
Expect 85% savings compared to cartridge printers. You also get premium features such as a touchscreen interface and ADF (automatic document feed), which can scan both sides of a document and automatically duplex print.
It’s a significant improvement over the impressive Canon MAXIFY GX6050 (which opens in a new tab) and arch-rival Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5850, so let’s see how it performs our test bench.
With four clear plastic windows on the front, you can see how much ink is left in each tank. Two more windows let you check your paper level as well. The control panel is tilted for easy viewing, and as you would expect from a premium printer, it has a touchscreen interface. The screen is 6.9cm in diameter, which is small but works pretty well.
Features and specifications
Canon has given its leader printer all the business highlights you can imagine. Being a four-in-one, it has fax offices and printing, filtering, and copying skills.
Coordinated Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct and Air-Print is accessible for remote printing and cloud services. There’s also an Ethernet port for wired connections, though this will disable the Wi-Fi Direct feature when in use. Can print on various media up to A4 size, including glossy photo paper, envelopes, and cards weighing up to 275 g/m2.
The print speed of 25ipm for black and white images is fast enough for an inkjet, but it’s not the fastest and slows down to 16ipm for color images.
Setting and operation
Setting up a super tank printer involves pouring in ink, but don’t worry. You’re very unlikely to spill a drop. When you lift the bottle, the liquid flows until the tank is full and stops automatically.

The Canon MAXIFY GX7020 performed well in our overall tests, with the strongest results achieved when copying and printing monochrome and color documents. At the same time, photos on glossy paper looked less impressive.
Characters appear sharp, dark, and consistent in high-quality mode and only slightly lighter in low-quality mode. We recommend this save mode to save ink without compromising quality too much. We knead the whole manuscript with good consistency and no streaks or paper jams.
Color documents also look fun. Pigment-based inks give you strong, hard-wearing prints that are colorful and filled, though not too bright. It’s ideal for mixed text/image documents and presentations but not ideal for glossy brochures and photos.
Photos on glossy photo paper tend to look slightly grainy and slightly flat. The colors certainly don’t stand out like Canon’s professional photo printers, which use dye-based inks. But with a more limited resolution, you can’t expect great photos from this office printer.
